Family Medicine Health-I-Hackathon (FMHIH) on 3 March 2018

The inaugural Family Medicine Health-I-Hackathon 2018 was held on 3 March at Carlton Hotel Singapore. The event attracted a total of nine teams from seven academic institutions. The focus was to increase the uptake of hand hygiene practices in primary care setting. As a prelude, a briefing and tour was held in Outram Polyclinic on 8 January for the participants to familiarise with the clinic setting and better appreciate the topic.

On the actual day, the teams refined their proposals after the preliminary round in the morning. The afternoon session resumed with an inspirational and heart-warming sharing by young inventors of Qanemate, an innovative and smart walking aid holder for the elderly. The finals ensued, with the judging panel critiquing solutions put forth by the teams.
