Overview

About Us

The Musculoskeletal Sciences (MSKSC) ACP is a composite of three clinical specialties, spanning five departments across three locations:

  • Orthopaedic Surgery which comprises of a combined total of 37 clinicians from the orthopaedic surgery departments in Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). It will also extend to include the upcoming Sengkang General Hospital (SKGH).
  • Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (PRAS) which is made up of a combined total of 18 specialists from the PRAS Departments in SGH and KKH.
  • Hand Surgery which includes clinicians from SGH’s Department of Hand Surgery, and KKH’s Hand Surgery Unit which is subsumed under its Orthopaedic Surgery Department. SGH Hand Surgery employs 6 specialists.

Under this cluster-wide MSKSC ACP, these three disciplines aim to explore collaborative academic medicine initiatives in clinical services, research and education.

Strategic Objectives

MSKSC ACP aims to integrate, consolidate and develop resources through the new academic structure spanning the MSKSC disciplines, to enable synergistic growth in academic medicine initiatives under the four pillars of Research, Clinical Services, Education and Strategy.

Organizational Structure

Senior clinicians have been nominated by the respective department heads to represent the interests of their respective specialties, as academic leaders in this multidisciplinary ACP.
