The Education Office of Medicine ACP aims to prepare ourselves and the future generations of doctors to be ready to serve our patients and provide the best healthcare for those in our community. Led by the Academic Vice-Chair of Education, we seek to nurture clinicians with strong clinical medicine foundation who:

  • Are versatile lifelong learners
  • Have strong public ethos, compassion and professional integrity
  • Embrace patient safety practices and support quality improvement
  • Are trained to teach, mentor and lead
  • Have the skills and abilities to differentiate into Clinician Scientists/Researchers,
    Clinical Educators and Master Clinicians

Undergraduate Medical Education

Our education office works closely with the 3 medical schools; NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School and NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine to provide students with the best curriculum and learning experience.  Each year, students from the 3rd, 4th and 5th year are attached to the medical departments for their clinical posting as part of their curriculum. With a wide range of medical specialties, our programme offers a challenging learning environment for the medical students.

Graduate Medical Education

Residency Programmes plays an important training role in Medicine ACP. We have 11 Residency Programmes residing under Medicine ACP that are successfully accredited by ACGME-I. This is a mark of assurance that the quality of our curriculum is consistent, relevant and of good standard. This is vital in building the next generation of doctors who are not only passionate but well-versed in clinical skills and knowledge.

Faculty Development

In collaboration with Academic Medicine Education Institute (AM.EI), the education office aims to:

  • Develop a systematic framework for the educational development of the  faculty
  • Allow for personal development of the individual faculty and development of educational expertise in the medical departments
  • Develop common understanding and competency in medical education
  • Allow for objective evaluation of performance assessment in the education domain

Medicine ACP adopted the educators’ framework as defined by the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) and will work closely with AM.EI to develop courses for our faculty.
Continuous medical education of our clinicians is emphasized within Medicine ACP. The education team works closely with the medical departments in organizing medical education conferences/forums for both our clinicians and patients.
