Valid measurement in the area of clinical outcome assessments (e.g., patient-reported outcome measures, clinician-reported outcome measures, observer-reported outcome measures and performance-based measures) is essential for high quality clinical and health services research. Because Singapore is a multi-ethnic and multi-lingual society, selection of appropriate outcome measures can be a challenge for researchers. For example, it is often unclear if assessment tools that were developed in other countries are appropriate for use in the local context. Researchers may also not be aware of assessment tools that have been developed and evaluated locally.
The TSCORE database is a growing registry of clinical outcome assessment measures whose psychometric properties (e.g., reliability, validity, responsiveness, interpretability) have been investigated in Singapore and published in scientific journals. This online tool is free to access.
TSCORE was created to facilitate the efficient search for and selection of appropriate, reliable, and valid clinical outcome assessment measures for use in clinical and health services research studies conducted with the local population in Singapore.
For each clinical outcome assessment measure, TSCORE provides basic information on the original measure (original study), in addition to key results (e.g., reliability, validity) from studies evaluating the psychometric properties of the measure in one or more well-defined Singaporean populations (qualification studies). We aim to update TSCORE regularly and we encourage researchers to suggest new entries that we may have overlooked.
Duke-NUS is pleased to host the TSCORE database with the objective of promoting valid and accurate measurement in research in the context of the Singapore healthcare environment. TSCORE is a growing online database of clinical outcome assessment measures whose psychometric properties have been investigated in Singapore and published in scientific journals. We hope that this database will serve as a useful research resource in your selection of a measurement tool and we welcome suggestions and corrections.
