Dr Maleena Suppiah Cavert
Senior Assistant Director, Clinical Education, National University Health System, Singapore

 

Dr Maleena is a Senior Assistant Director at the National University Health Systems. She helms Education and manages Undergraduate, Post-Graduate/Residency, and Simulation Centre programmes. A graduate of King’s College London, she went on to pursue an MBA at ESSEC Business School, Paris and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Liverpool.

She coaches healthcare professionals in the areas of Empathy & Compassion, Communications, Mindfulness and Stress-reduction. Together with counterparts at the Ministry of Health, Dr Maleena focuses on Physician Wellbeing and develops Resilience-building strategies.

As a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) trainer, Dr Maleena runs Train-the Trainer initiatives and actively mentors juniors/colleagues who experience excessive stress and burnout. She also conducts courses on Empathy and the Medical Humanities for the enhancement of interpersonal relationships and patient-centred care. Her international career spans France, Italy, Austria, and the United Kingdom.
